More Mr. Men

Here is a sneak peek at some of the backgrounds used in the new version of The Mr. Men Show. It’s based on the original Mr. Men and Little Miss books created in the 1970s by Roger Hargreaves, which have sold in excess of 100 million copies worldwide. The styling is great and the flat characters ‘read’ really well against these textured backgrounds. I personally am enjoying animating on this project and feel it’s going to do very well. This might be a really dumb question, but what programs were the backgrounds done in and how was the texture look created? Mainly curious about the base background texture look. If you get a chance, could you please email (animation@aliengraphicx.com) any hints or tricks in creating this style of textured background. I'm currently designing the background look for my current short and want to find the best look to go with the character design and animation. Thanks

It's also very funny stuff. I think adults will enjoy this too.
