Just saw Ratatouille. Amazing, Bird has so much packed into it, the critic Ego’s office in the shape of a coffin, the tears in Colette’s eyes, the feel of flesh and fur, all great. It’s the first film I’ve looked forward to in a long time that didn’t disappoint. The audience actually applauded after the screening. Kudos to my buddy Brian Boyd for helping make another Pixar hit.

I couldn't agree more, Joel. I saw the film last night, and I was blown away! It's getting to the point where you almost feel like saying "Pixar's great" is just following some kind of community-consciousness, and that they can't really be THAT amazing. But they are! How do they manage that??
The story was so wonderful, and so absolutely different than anything we've come to expect from animated features in the past few years.
I'll definitely be seeing this a few more times before it leaves the theatres. :)
Hey Eric, I agree with you about Pixar. Brad Bird said something so simple yet hard to achieve about creating characters you feel emotionally involved with. I didn’t buy all of Ratatouille like why she should fall for a dork like Linguini, (yet I don’t know why my wife fell for a dork like me either), but I did care about the characters and liked them a lot.
